Leatherman has continued its 25th anniversary celebration with a new, limited edition line of elite Leatherman multi-tools. With a focus on luxury for the Leatherman collector, Argentine silversmith Adrian Pollarols has designed the Leatherman Argentum Collection. The Argentum Collection includes re-designed Charge and Squirt multi-tools with a variety of silver designs, inlays and detailing. Leatherman is widely known for their two-handled, action packed multi-tools like the Leatherman Skeletool and others. It is a surprise to few, however, that Leatherman’s line of blades brings that action into a single handled unit. The Leatherman k502x and k503x share the functionality of the Skeletool series in a classic single blade. It includes a sharp blade with a serrated saw section, a multi-piece screwdriver, a carabiner and a bottle opener. The smooth black metal handle gives it the aggressive look of the latest Leathermans, much like the tungsten detail of the Skeletool. Get this one in your pocket as soon as you can– its the ultimate go to tool for the everyman of the summer.

One characteristic that distinguishes man from most animals is his ability to use tools to change his environment. From the invention of the wheel to the automobile, abacus to the personal computer, man’s greatest strength is in the tools he develops to enrich his life. In the traditional sense of the word, the concept of the “tool” has evolved beyond comprehension. What started with a shaped stone for cutting or a club for hunting has today become the ultimate pocket gadget, the modern multi-tool.
You can’t mention “multi-tool” without the name Leatherman. While the multi-tool concept was popularized by the Swiss, it was perfected just 25 years ago by a man named Tim Leatherman. Fast forward to 2008, and the Leatherman Tool Group begins shipping its latest evolution of the modern multi-tool, the Leatherman Skeletool and Leatherman Skeletool CX. The team at Leatherman was nice enough to send a Skeletool to GearCrave for review and a giveaway to our readers. Continue reading, GearCravers, for our take on the new Skeletool, its functionality, and why we think you might just need one in your own pocket…

With the release of the Leatherman Skeletool CX, another popular Leatherman multi-tool has seen a huge price drop. Today, Amazon has dropped its price on the Leatherman Blast from $50 down to $39. The Blast is your standard Leatherman multitool. Of course, nothing is standard about Leatherman– they pack more pieces into their tools than even the handiest of men could wish for. Saw blades, files, scissors, bottle openers, screw drivers, knives and pliers. The handle on the Blast is even marked with a ruler. So if the Skeletool CX is out of your budget, the Leatherman Blast just got a whole lot more affordable.
