Over the top? We say yes. However, if you work in the Antarctic Research Lab, anywhere in Chicago, or your boss is a cheap ass who likes to make you suffer, you’ll want to keep reading. With the dead cold now gripping your office windows, you’ve probably started checking out the sale prices on those sweaters. Hell, its February, and there is no end in sight to the frigid death grip of winter. Solution? These one-size fits most wool USB-powered gloves have a heating pad inside which raises the temp up by ten degrees in five minutes. If you’re one of those people that can’t go camping without your laptop, these could come in handy, but they don’t get hot enough to roast marshmallows. There are still some uses for good old-fashioned fire.

This dot matrix wallet by Tyvek is just too goofy not to like. The text is the first 3,000 digits of PI in that classic, clunky old dot-matrix format we all knew and loved back in the day when 256mb or RAM was a lot, and the hottest videogame on the planet was Doom. Relive the good old days of stinky toner and the Super Shotgun!

The Belkin N1 Vision makes wireless networking sexy with an Apple-inspired design and a built-in display for broadband network speed, upload & download speeds and other data. 5thirtyone.com made a lot of noise about this recently and we agree, this is one serious piece of hardware. With up to 1600 feet of wireless network coverage, you can hang out in the yard with the laptop, or in the case of 5thirtyone.com’s Derek Punsalan, at a local sushi bar. Now that is coverage! Cheers to 5thirtyone.com for an excellent, in-depth piece on the pros (and a couple of cons, but only cosmetic ones) of the Belkin N1 Vision. Did we mention that installation is actually user-friendly? That’s a new one . . .

Whoever came up with this one is a complete and total genius. The USB-powered Cool-It drink chiller literally works anywhere you can plug a USB cable into, including Xbox consoles, Sony Playstation, Macs, laptops, anything. If your dog had a USB port, it would work there, too. Cool-It keeps your drink chilled to a sweet 45 degrees, and while it can indeed cool off a warm bevvy over time, it’s much better suited to maintaining the ideal drinking temperature of an already-chilled can of . . . whatever. USB Chiller requires at least 1.2 Amps to operate, just so you know. It is USB 1.0 compatible, but mind those amps.

The StealthSwitch
This is the ultimate gadget for sneaky computer activity. Most people will automatically assume this USB foot switch is just an office toy, but think outside the cubicle–it can give you the same privacy from prying eyes at home, too. Use the Stealthswitch to minimize any or all windows, or just the ones you specify, just by pushing down with your foot onto the pressure pad.
Those Friday afternoon Youtube timewasters disappear the moment you hear footsteps coming up behind you. The same goes for that lusty email to the girl in the third cubicle from the back. Do you really need anyone else seeing that? It too will vanish from sight at the twitch of your foot. Are you checking out the swimsuit models at Sportsillustrated.com instead of filing your expense report? You need the Stealthswitch.
