MX-air.jpg

No longer does the Nintendo Wii hold the crown for gyroscopic control technology. Logitech’s MX Air mouse brings hand motion control from the console to the pc, from play to productivity. The MX Air Mouse functions as a standard optical mouse on the pad- but it truly comes to life when you lift it from your desk. Just like the wiimote, this mouse provides motion control to your software– verticle, horizontal, yaw, and everything in between. Take a look at this video to see the MX Air Mouse in action. We’re adding this one to our personal crave list… right alongside the DiNovo wireless keyboard

Wi-Fi Detector T-Shirt

October 8th, 2007 · 1 Comment

In a word– awesome.  This Wi-Fi detector t-shirt displays the wireless strength in your location at all times.  While this t-shirt is more novelty than utility, it makes techs like ourselves itch with want.  While this is understandably more pricey than a standard t-shirt, you get quite a lot for thirty bucks.  The shirt includes a battery pack, the animated decal (which is removable for washing),  and it runs for hours on 3 AAA batteries.  Personally, we’d love to see something like this on a watch, say the 2GB USB memory watch, or something else that is a little more subtle than rocking it on your sleeve.  But still, this is geek couture at its best!

How to Buy a 22″ Widescreen LCD Monitor On The Cheap!

October 1st, 2007 · 1 Comment

Last week, your humble GearCrave editor finally upgraded his workstation display. After hours of research and plenty of second-guessing, I finally found myself a great deal on a 22″ widescreen LCD– and pulled the trigger. This move has completely changed my computing experience, and I can’t believe I waited so long to do this. I have more monitor real estate than I know what to do with: my desktop icons are spread minimally, my FireFox favorites tabs extend miles to the right, and I can even make room for YouTube and WordPress at the same time… Just don’t tell my boss!

In case there are any Cravers out there who are looking to make a move just like this, we thought we’d put together a guide on how to buy a 22″ Widescreen LCD Monitor on the Cheap. And what do we mean by “cheap”? At today’s rates, we expect that you can get yourself a lovely widescreen LCD for less than $250– and maybe even under $220… Without further adieu, let’s begin (below the fold)!

Speck Macbook hardshells

Made you look! This is NOT a picture of a red MacBook, it’s a shot of a standard white Mac sporting a red Speck Hardshell. Everyone will want to know where you bought the Mac, it’s up to you to decide whether or not to give them the real dirt on why your laptop looks so freakin’ sweet. The Speck hardshells come pre-cut so you can access all your USB ports and power supply, and are made in a variety of cool colors for specific sizes. (The one pictured here is for the 13 inch Macbook.) The ingenious two-piece design lets you open and close the Mac as usual, you never have to remove the case until you get bored with red and want to go with blue, green, or black.

A Wireless Router To Be Proud Of: Belkin Gets Sexy With N1 Vision

August 21st, 2007 · 1 Comment

The Belkin N1 Vision makes wireless networking sexy with an Apple-inspired design and a built-in display for broadband network speed, upload & download speeds and other data. 5thirtyone.com made a lot of noise about this recently and we agree, this is one serious piece of hardware. With up to 1600 feet of wireless network coverage, you can hang out in the yard with the laptop, or in the case of 5thirtyone.com’s Derek Punsalan, at a local sushi bar. Now that is coverage! Cheers to 5thirtyone.com for an excellent, in-depth piece on the pros (and a couple of cons, but only cosmetic ones) of the Belkin N1 Vision. Did we mention that installation is actually user-friendly? That’s a new one . . .

Keep It Hot: USB Travel Mug

August 16th, 2007 · No Comments

USB-powered travel mug

Is this just a lame excuse to say “I got me some java and javascript going at the same time”? USB seems to be the hot-button ‘Crave word of the moment, so it makes sense to mention The USB travel mug, which also plugs in to your car’s cigarette lighter, but why bother? We like the sheer “we got the future right here” coolness of plugging that mug right into the workstation. Or better yet, your Xbox 360. We aren’t your mom, so we don’t have to bother reminding not to spill the damn thing.
