Don’t bother snickering at the name of the designer, it only identifies you as a hopeless American Beavis and Butthead fan. Jantze Brogard Asshoff presents Qubic–a flexible storage system that can be wall-mounted or assembled on legs if you can’t handle a level and stud finder. No word on pricing on this, but the on-wall look is a great addition to a modern house or apartment. Since black matches everything, there’s no need to reconsider your paint scheme…

Plodes Studios has given storage a whole new face with the Barnacles series. This modern concept looks more like honeycombs to us than, but whatever you call ‘em, they are certainly attention getting. We think these might be even trippier with some kind of light source installed in each one, but that’s probably edging closer to art installation territory than home storage.

Marcel Duchamp was the artist who made art history by turning a toilet upside down and putting it on display as an art piece titled Fountain. One of art history’s inveterate pranksters AND a serious artist at the same time, Duchamp is legendary. Now BetterWall.com immortalizes Duchamp and the Dada art movement with these limited edition vinyl wall hangings. Others in the series include the sold-out Andy Warhol and Ansel Adams, but this Duchamp hanging is one of the most visually striking of the lot. As you can see, it looks great in any living room or home office with modern decor.

Is it art? Is it functional? Oliver Gregoire isn’t really telling. His Hot Paper Toaster is designed to disregard the product itself in favor of creating a striking visual image. Gregiore’s site is full of functional creations — stunningly cool coffee tables, one-of-a-kind art/furniture pieces, and tableware. But the mystery remains; can you stick bread in this thing?

It looks pretty cool, regardless of whether you can cook with it or not.

Look at that attitude! “Don’t f*&# with me, or I pull the plug!” Roger Arquer is an artist who has come up with a whopping 15 variations on the common goldfish bowl, including this one, which could have been a Far Side cartoon way back when. This has got to be the statement of the week, but where the hell do you buy one? Cheers to Dezeen.com for bringing this to our attention, this is at least one Gearcraver’s screensaver image now. Demented genius.

Looks sort of unusual, doesn’t it? That’s because this Godfather movie poster image is not a still from the movie, but created entirely of text; the entire script of the movie. Get a closer look at LAPopArt.com to see the amazing detail and painstaking care put into making this image. Did we mention that the script for this 24×30 inch poster is all handwritten? This is a serious work of art, especially for Godfather fans. Yeah, we know Part III sucked, but Brando kicked so much ass in the first one that we’re willing to overlook that little detail. Who knew you could arrange the words of a script like this?

This is the official Crave Of The Moment, spotted by pure accident on Design-Mind.blogspot.com. These hanging lights are made from wine bottles which have been cut into sections and carefully polished. Designer Jerry Kott reassembles the sections, mixing and matching colors to excellent effect. A pretty sweet idea, another one of those “why didn’t we think of that” notions. Simple, fashionable, and good for the environment since every Colorblock hanging light sold is at least three fewer wine bottles headed for a landfill someplace. Excellent!
