Air Jordans have been legendary for more than two decades, but the new $185 XX3 Air Jordans are a breakthrough for both Nike and the hardcourt legend. It’s the very first Nike created under the new “Consider” concept–that new series of sustainable, environmentally friendly shoes. We don’t know what that means in terms of wear and durability, but at first glance this is quite an impressive offering; less waste in the manufacturing process and raised awareness are never a bad thing. The price tag is squarely at the upscale end, so the makers of swoosh shoes have a little farther to go before they truly put their environmental money where their corporate mouths are–but this is a hell of a start. XX3 Air Jordans go out in a limited run before hitting wide distro later in the year.
