The Sony Net Sharing Cam, NSC GC1 drops today with a $50 price cut, making this around-$150 gadget a great holiday gift. It shoots in MP4 format, streams to the web or to your hard drive via USB, and if you like Sony Crackle web sharing service, you’re in luck as this is primed and ready for Crackle. The most attractive feature of this–based on Sony’s marketing hype–is the 5 hours of video you can shoot without being tethered to the USB cable. It shoots that five hours in QVGA format at 320 x 240 size, all stored on a 2gig memory stick sold seperately. It also shoot stills. Pretty tasty as a handy carry-along for parties, vacation shots, and any You-Tube worthy embarassment you want to subject your friends to. It’s as small as a deck of cards, so it’s also a nice spy device for those obsessed with furtive video capture of unsuspecting dorks. Just don’t go getting sued.
