Swapping music and videos with friends used to require a computer and blank CDs. Now you can do it at the push of a button, thanks to the new miShare, a handheld device that acts like a hard drive and instantly swaps info between iPods. Simply plug two iPods into the unit and choose the files you’d like to copy. Transfer rates vary, but individual songs take six seconds, and music videos transfer in less than a minute. it sounds illegal, but it’s not: DRM-protected files need to be authorized for playing on additional computers, but most music can be transferred guilt free.
