GraGraph Home Earthquake Seismograph
Japanese consumer product design has always emphasized function and practicality, so why shouldn’t there be something to ease those earthquake fears? The GraGraph home earthquake detector measures the strength and storing the data for later examination. If you live near major faults like California’s San Andreas or the rarely-discussed (and huge) New Madrid fault in the midwest, it’s entirely possible to track small seismic activity. Try to guess when the next Big One might start rumbling based on smaller indictors. If tremors hit at night, GraGraph acts as a handy night light, too. Audible warnings are given in Japanese only, so baka gaijin like us will have to rely on the digital display. GraGraph measures quake sizes from 3.o to “We’re screwed.”
