The Shiro SQ: Solar Powered Media
Friday, October 10, 2008 11:29AM - By Mike Payne

Shiro’s SQ media player takes a sustainable approach to playing your mp3s and videos. On the rear panel of the SQ, a solar cell generates electricity from direct sunlight– enough to fully charge the unit in four hours. Beyond the stardard mp3/wav/wma playback, the Shiro SQ also includes an FM tuner and a small mic for voice recording. While we have only seen poor renderings at this point (note that the above is a collage of the rear of the SQ and the front of the VT), but pictures, pricing and release dates will likely hit the web soon. In all, a cool little idea for the sustainable gadget lover. [via hardwarezone]
