Gyration Air Mouse: Floating Chick Not Included

I’ll give you a moment to get over Gyration’s goofy marketing image with the floating woman. Hell, it took me a few minutes myself. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s talk floating mice. The Gyration Air Mouse is a motion-controllable mouse that responds to movement in all directions– when lifted off your desk. This technology isn’t new, per se, as Logitech has their MX Air mouse and Nintendo has their Wii. We are happy to see this technology catch on, as it does provide a host of cool applications for motion control. You can control your media from up to 100 feet away, you can have greater control of 3D apps like AutoCAD or SecondLife, you can toy with a new generation of custom games that support this technology. The best part– its a bit cheaper than the MX Air, priced at $99 ($50 less than the MX Air). [$99 at gyration via gizmodo]
