Looking for high, natural adventure without leaving the country? The Appalachian Trail spans from Maine to Georgia, nearly 2,175 miles from tip to tip. Snaking across the Eastern U.S. and climbing through the Appalachian Mountains, the Appalachian Trail is an historic pathway dating back to the 1920s. Winding through wilderness, wildlife, plant life and volatile topography, the “AT” is a truly American adventure. While it might be on the hot side to get started in August, we suggest starting in the Northeast states, New Hampshire, Maine and otherwise. If you’re planning a later trip, head down toward the Southern states for warmer travels. We suggest talking to anyone who has hike the Appalachian Trail, or finding more info online about this trip. It is truly one not to miss for the avid outdoorsman.
