You know what? I am kind of caught in the middle of this discussion. I currently own an R32 which isn’t exactly the gas sipper, but there isn’t a hybrid out there that is anywhere near appealing. Now, when the new VOLT comes out, that will be something I look at.
For the record, my other car is a Passat which is a gas sipper.

You must love your VW’s, the R32 is a lot of money for a golf.

Muscle cars are crap as they all handle like a piece of shit and hybrids suck as their performance is junk. The Tesla looks a little more interesting, but again that is niether.

Until then I will stick with my M coupe, overpriced nazi sled…I love it.

I call the Prius the Smugmobile. Sure, they get good mileage, but a RORO (a type of ship) burned a quarter million gallons of fuel to bring it from Japan. My American built car will l never burn that much fuel in its lifetime. Good job warming up the planet, Prius drivers!

I love the south park episode where they make fun of all the prius drivers.

Well yes, I do love Vw’s. They are reliable, (to me they have been contrary to the internet ramblings) They get great gas mileage, (passat can get me 34 mpg) and they are fun to drive. Is the R32 overpriced? Perhaps if you pay sticker, but when you buy a car you negotiate. So considering i got mine for 28 and change, I think i got a great deal and I love the car. Not all of is have the change to buy an M3.

I take your point, I dont have an M3 though, Z4 M Coupe much more fun and a lot less change.

Why don’t you sell the passat and R32 and import a Catheram, now that is a bang for a buck…R500 superlight….hahaha

Well the R32 is mine and the Passat is the wife’s. So selling them both is out of the question for now. When my lease is up I will decide what to do, but I am seriously considering the Volt. Have a friend that works for GM research & development and he told me this thing is going to be ridiculous.
