Remember those early 80s science class videos with the monotone narration and the bad synth soundtracks?  They promised us two things by the year 2000:  jetpacks and sex robots.  Since New Year’s Day of the year 2000, I’ve been standing here looking at my watch, just waiting.  I want my jetpack.  I want my robot.  If you, like me, feel a little let down, you might be excited to hear a little bit of news.  A new jet pack maker has spent the last 27 in research and development to create an effective, user friendly jetpack.  While before, most jetpacks can only lift off for about 26 seconds (such as the Bell Rocketbelt, shown in the photo above), this one promises a much longer ride.  While this could all just be a PR stunt with little follow through, we’ll have our eyes focused on Oshkosh, Wisconsin on July 29th.  Stay tuned for news about the Martin Jetpack, which will be first shown to the public at AirAdventure 2008 in Oshkosh.  Video after the jump.
