GearCrave Giveaway: NIVEA for MEN Extreme Comfort

We’re men. Generally, when we hear words like “chamomile” and “licorice” and their “soothing qualities”, we tend to tune out. When it comes to the way we work, we pass on the marketing fluff and head straight for the products we know. That’s not to say, however, that we aren’t aloof to new technologies, whether it be the latest iPhone or the latest in skin care. Recently, NIVEA for MEN reached out to GearCrave, asking us to try their new line of shaving skin care. While we normally balk at the prospect of change in this area, we decided to give this one a shot…

The result? A damn clean, comfortable shave without the burns and redness we normally experience. We’ll admit, we were a little biased in making this decision. Your humble GearCrave editor finds this tough to admit, but I have abnormally sensitive skin. There, I said it. Anyway, turns out the Extreme Comfort line from NIVEA works. Like a charm. Might this describe you as well? Its your lucky day. GearCrave talked the folks at NIVEA into giving away 5 sets of their new Extreme Comfort shaving gel and aftershave balm to GearCrave readers. Keep reading, we’ll tell you more about the new NIVEA line, plus how you can get your own for free from GearCrave.

nivea extreme comfort

Like I mentioned, your humble GearCrave editor is cursed with overly sensitive skin. Most shaving products tend to rub us the wrong way, leaving itchy, dry, red skin afterward. After NIVEA reached out to GearCrave, I picked up a pair of the Extreme Comfort line at my local drug store. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting anything from the line…

I rubbed on a layer of the gel, felt a nice, moist cool afterward. Still a little skeptical, I shaved off coat after coat until I was smooth and ready for the night out. To complete the experience, I tried the post shave balm from the Extreme Comfort line. The first thing I noticed was the lack of burn. Then, as usual, I waited for the typical itching, dryness and redness that comes on cue within a minute or two of shaving. While my skin wasn’t 100% blemish free, this may have been my best shave in months.

Just to do a little due diligence, I should mention that I had given up on shaving products aside from my trusted line years ago– nearly a decade. There may have been lateral advances in skin care technology since then, but NIVEA earns the gold for giving me a reason to try a new one. Our entire reasoning in writing up this article is to offer other GearCrave readers who may be in the same predicament a chance to give this the same shot we did. Interested? We’ll give you an easy shot to get a free set for yourself shortly…

NIVEA for MEN credits the efficacy of their new line of mens shaving and skin care to a newer proprietary technology. They call it “natural MICRO tec”. Basically, this system provides organic nutrients and plant extracts through a nanotech delivery system. This system won’t essentially get you more of the soothing elements, the delivery is just faster, more direct. I’m not a scientist, so I can’t break down the details– all I can give is my personal review of how it feels at the end of a shave.

The thing is– what worked quite well for us isn’t guaranteed to work for you. So we asked, quite kindly, if NIVEA would give us 5 sets of their Extreme Comfort shaving care gel and balm. They agreed, so we wanted to give these away to you. Want to give it a shot? Here’s how!

  1. Sign up for the GearCrave email newsletter. You can do so with the link in that last sentence, or by clicking on the link in the upper right corner of every GearCrave page.
  2. Comment here. You want to give it a shot? Just comment on this page with “I’ll give it a shot!” or some other note, we’ll include you in our list. At the end of this week (Sunday midnight), we’ll select 5 lucky winners and deliver the goods.

Sound good? Give it a shot, GearCravers. Thanks to NIVEA for MEN for reaching out to us, and kudos on making a shaving product that actually delivers on its promise… Let us know how it works for you, GearCravers!

Sounds like it’s worth a shot. I’m not a fan of any of the brands I’ve tried, so why not?

You know trying something might not hurt, hell nothing I have used to this day works at all so might as well try something new. Hopefully, the millionth time is the charm.

Probably better than the alcohol based aftershave I currently use.
