Just hold on a second– before you scream “sacrilege!” and throw your coffee cup at your monitor, give us a chance and read the rest of this post.  This isn’t your four-on-the-floor, dreamy synth dance remix album, nor is it a painful hip hop tear-up with MCs talking all over the Cash Man.  Johnny Cash Remixed joins the greatest minds in mash-up remixes with the legacy of Johnny Cash himself.  For the most part, these songs remain authentic- the vision of Mr. Cash remains, while the remixers updated these classics with new, organic grooves.  There are a few deviations that had us cringing, like Sonny J’s remix of Country Boy.  Ugh.  While the album won’t hit stores until October 14th of this year, you can hear samples, video and more on the album’s website.
