In a role seemingly tailored for him by history, Brad Pitt becomes the legacy of Jesse James in “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford”. Where Pitt is flawless, it is the performance by Casey Affleck that makes this film what it is. Affleck (not the douche, the douche’s younger brother) plays the role of Robert Ford, a Jesse James admirer who takes up arms in the James crime squad. In a complicated tale of obsession, criminal genius, double agency and finally betrayal, this film is an edge-of-the-seat ride of surprises and suspense. If you saw it in the theater, here’s your chance to see it again. For those that missed it, here’s your ticket for one hell of a ride.
