“If anything in this life is certain, if history has taught us anything, it is that you can kill anyone.”
Thursday, September 18, 2008 6:23AM
Oh, it’s gotta be “and your first child, may he be a masculine child”.. I still lose it every time.
Oh, and any time Appolonia is on the screen. I definitely lose it then too. I’m considering making a trip to Sicily to scout out her sister.
Thursday, September 18, 2008 6:53AM
best trilogy ever, hands down! i love it…
Thursday, September 18, 2008 7:01AM
Fantastic Series…although I must admit I have never watched all of the 3rd one…but with this set I sure could! Coppola, you rock!
Thursday, September 18, 2008 7:09AM
My favourite scene has to be the part with the horse head. I mean it’s infamous, either that or when the don says “make him an offer he can”t refuse”
i”ll take it on Blu-Ray if you offer either..
Thursday, September 18, 2008 7:34AM
“I don’t feel I have to wipe everybody out, Tom. Just my enemies. ”
Blu-Ray Godfather!!!!!
Thursday, September 18, 2008 7:49AM
You broke my heart
Thursday, September 18, 2008 8:01AM
Words that just about summed up the entire movie….. “If anything in this life is certain; If history has taught us anything, it’s that you can kill anyone.”
Thursday, September 18, 2008 8:34AM
Michael - “I’ll give you my answer right now if you like.”
Sen. Geary - “Alright.”
Michael - “My offer is this: nothing. Not even the 50,000 for the license, which I would appreciate if you would put up personally.”

“Leave the gun, take the cannoli”

Michael and Enzo (the baker) standing guard at the hospital while another assassination is planned on Vito Corleone. That scene represents the pure genius of this masterpiece. Watching Enzo try and act tough while Michael fakes to have a gun in his pocket… I LOVE THAT SCENE!
Thursday, September 18, 2008 1:51PM
I make him an offer he don’t refuse.

Thursday, September 18, 2008 9:10PM
My favorite scene is the scene where fredo
is doing the hail mary in the fishing boat right before the shot. There is a pan and then a wide shot of the scene. You can hear the gentle splashing of the water and then the shot. Perfect.
Thursday, September 18, 2008 9:50PM
The baptism scene. Best juxtaposition in the history of cinema.
Thursday, September 18, 2008 10:36PM
The part when Brando speaks - yes, all of them
Friday, September 19, 2008 9:22AM
Favorite scene is where he remains perfectly calm in the face of Woltz’s tirade. That reflects his complete confidence in Vito’s ability to get what he wants for Johnny and his advice to Tom to never get angry and never let anyone know what you’re thinking. Perfectly played. Of course the, “Mr. Corleone insists on hearing bad news immediately” is classic.

My favorite scene is in Part II. When Vito Corleone goes back to Italy and kills the man who killed his mother.
Sunday, September 21, 2008 2:06PM
horse head in the bed.
Sunday, September 21, 2008 2:20PM
The bed in the horse’s head. Or am I mis-remembering?
Sunday, September 21, 2008 2:29PM
I think it must be the horse head in the bed.
Sunday, September 21, 2008 2:42PM
I think my favorite moment is when Al Pachino is having his baby baptised while all his rivals are being killed and revenge is being taken. Thank you for the giveaway.
Sunday, September 21, 2008 3:08PM
Great movies that move move and appall you. My favorite scene is where Fredo tells Michael that for once he just wanted something for himself—for someone to be proud of him.
Sunday, September 21, 2008 3:13PM
Everyone hates the 3rd one. I rather like it. If you watch it enough, it’ll grow on you. I have a fondness for the scene where Vincent (Sonny’s illegitimate son, played by Andy Garcia) is dressed as a cop and is on horseback, shadowing Joey Zaza during the festival in Little Italy. It ends up with Vincent gunning him down in a doorway and riding calmly off on the horse.
Sunday, September 21, 2008 3:43PM

When Marlon Brando gets shot at the end… I know it’s been mentioned time and time again in these comments but he’s such a fantastic actor, you can’t help but say it over and over. :P
Thanks for the contest!

when the godfather meets with the different people the day of the wedding!
Monday, September 22, 2008 5:32AM
When Michael has embraced his new role, and as he “renounces Satan and all his works,” we are treated to a bloody montage of hits he’s ordered on several characters who have been working against the best interests of the family.
Monday, September 22, 2008 6:56AM
The horsehead in the bed was kinda freaky! Thanks for the great opportunity!

Al Pacino’s acting through the entire thing!
Monday, September 22, 2008 9:51AM
I am honored and grateful that you have invited me to your home on the wedding day of your daughter. And may their first child be a masculine child…
Monday, September 22, 2008 11:12AM
I don’t know why no one likes #3. I LOVE Andy Garcia!! And he’s perfect as Vincent. Aside from the obvious, like the horse head in the bed and “an offer he can’t refuse”, I liked the scene on the steps where Sophia Coppola (she looked so young then!!) dies. That was dramatic and heart-wrenching.
Monday, September 22, 2008 12:48PM
I know it was you, Fredo. You broke my heart. You broke my heart.
Monday, September 22, 2008 1:42PM

The horse’s head in bed. That is a classic!
Monday, September 22, 2008 7:46PM
The hit on Sonny. Still nails me to the screen every time.
