Beer of the Week: Bell’s Oberon

Bell’s Oberon as GearCrave’s beer of the week can only mean one thing: that cold weather is finally fully behind us. This Midwestern favorite is brewed by one of the premier domestic breweries, Bell’s Brewery of greater Kalamazoo, Michigan. Like the summer itself, Bell’s Oberon is golden in color with a sunny aroma. The taste of Oberon is not unlike your familiar wheats, but a brighter flavor with the release of a pilsner. Ask any Midwesterner or domestic beer snob, Oberon is one of the best for summer wheats. The difficulty, however, is getting yourself a six pack. There are rumors that Bell’s will discontinue shipping outside of Michigan due to state importing taxes. If you see Bell’s at your local liqour store, get yourself a six pack now. If they don’t carry it, its worth asking for a special order…
Buy: 6/$9
