Trio Contemporary Coffee Table
When you look at modern furniture or architecture, you have to ask yourself a simple question: is it functional? Can it add a new level of utility to your life? This question was popularized by a much-quoted phrase by architect Louis Sullivan: “form follows function”. Those that try to push the barriers of form without providing function are NOT architects or furniture designers– they are sculptors, those who create art to be looked at, not to be used. Long lectures aside, the Trio coffee table might look modern for modern’s sake, but the drawer and layered levels actually provide levels of function that even this designer may not have envisioned. It’s a score, in our opinion, fusing the better elements of modern design with a level of utility that no one will scoff at.
