The CAD geniuses at London’s FormTank design firm will be showing their new 2d3d tables next week at 100% design. Beyond its clean, industrial (and quite beautiful) appearance, what is so special about the 2d3d tables? They’re cut from a single sheet of steel, then folded into position as shown above– like metal origami. The costs of production and transport are minimalized due to smart, sustainable design practices. On the back end, less than 4% of the steel used in the 2d3d tables is discarded. Beyond the green conscious factors of the FormTank 2d3d tables, their modern beauty speaks for themselves… [thanks inhabitat]
