Lenin Candlestick Figurines

Russian artists Vitaly Komar and Alexander Melamid lived through the height of the cold war in Moscow. Their art reflected a bold, internal sense of humor veiled by an overt respect for Russian ideology. When they emigrated from Russia to the US in 1970, they brought with them Soviet artifacts and that same sense of humor that carried them through some gray times in Russian history. Today, Komar and Melamid have released a limited edition set of four Lenin Candlestick Figurines, featuring the father of Soviet Russia himself. Formed from a statue that escaped Russia with the pair, these candlesticks are a genuine, if not humorous homage to one of the most controversial figures of the last century.
