If you’re like us, you loathe plastic packaging.  For every new electric razor, digital camera, handheld game unit or mobile phone, that seemingly impenetrable sheet of plastic is the last barrier to gratification.  Designer Rodrigo Alonso has created a new take on thermoformed plastic packaging– by making it a part of the design itself.  The Blightster Container Lamp is stored in thermoformed plastic packaging that is opened to reveal the light bulb, plug and other mechanics.  Don’t toss out that packaging, however, as the Blightster’s packaging is also its lampshade.  Hang it wherever you please, use it as a table lamp, the Blightster is a middle finger to useless packaging, and a damn cool design in itself… [thanks joshspear]
