Camping should always be a good time. You should always have plenty of beer, plenty of raw meet to grill, plenty of bug spray– and a damn good tent. There’s nothing like ending a day in the woods coming back to a bug-infested, leaky tent that is barely supporting yourself, let alone you and your guest. If its about time that you upgrade your own camping hardware, we recommend the good people at REI. Their Quarter Dome T3 tent, shown above, is part of their ultralight range. This means you can put this puppy on your back during a hike and won’t feel a burden. While it is rated as a three person tent, consider this one a honeymooner. You and your special lady will fit in this one just fine, with plenty of room for tent shaking fun. The best part about the REI Quarter Dome? You’ll have this one pitched and primed before your camping neighbors get theirs out of the bag…

The “modular” buzz word always gets our gearlust going… When it comes to golf, the only thing “modular” about our game is which emotion we wish to attach to our game on the fairway. Not anymore, says Calloway Golf. Their I-Mix line of drivers is a modular club system which allows the golfer to exchange clubheads and shafts from a wide variety of choices. The idea behind the I-Mix line is the tinkering, adjusting and personalizing that pros do to their clubs to get the right performance. With this line, golfers can have a few different shafts and clubheads and mix-and-match to fit the environment. While much of golf’s recent developments in technology have been solely design/marketing related, this is a genuine step forward for pro and amateur golfers a like. (a hundred bucks says you slice it into the woods anyway!) [TheBachelorGuy]

Its fully playable, so if you’re in Milan over the weekend– we recommend giving this one a shot.

Favre fanatics will not want to miss this special tribute edition of Sports Illustrated, dedicated to Favre in honor of his retirement. As the cover quote says, Favre’s contributions to the game speak for themselves; he’s the only three-time AP MVP in NFL history, and helped get Green Bay to two Super Bowls in a row. Not bad for a guy who was drafted by the Falcons only to throw only four incomplete passes his whole time there! There are a million other stats, but you know ‘em already. This special SI issue is sure to be a collector’s item later on, so order two and keep one un-opened for its money-making potential on eBay sometime down the road.

A high performance bike usually comes with a price–you have to ride in a low, aggressive position that can be rough on the back and hamstrings. Enter the Cervelo RS, a rugged, durable performance ride but with a higher handlebar to allow riders to sit more upright. The problem with shifting to this more comfortable position? A change of balance as weight shifts to the rear of the bike. Cervelo anticipated this change in weight and the bike’s center of gravity with several tweaks that make bike enthusiasts cheer. The Cervelo RS is getting rave reviews in the right places, including road tests to see if the bike can survive the hype. If you want the power without the backache, the Cervelo RS is definitely a good investment. It’s important to note the limited lifetime warranty of this bike (for the original owner!) and the fact that Cervelo will ONLY honor that warranty if you buy from an authorized dealer. Buy it used and you’re on your own.

The Kelty Cloud 5250 has aluminum stays and features a top-loading design. It also has removable pocket–a brilliant idea. When you don’t need the extra storage, lighten the load by removing all unneeded compartments. When you want the extras for a long hike or gear-intensive trip, reattach the pockets and move out with all the space you require. Bungee compression lets you contract the unused space to cinch the pack to its smallest size. Padded straps and a three-layer waist belt complete with stays make this a great, ultralight pack.

While the weather is still ugly, the StairMaster 3800RC is one great way to cope with not being able to put two wheels on the ground. The recumbent design is handy for giving your legs a workout they aren’t used to getting from standard bike design, but you’re still working out one of the largest muscle groups you’ve got. Watch The Daily Show and get a decent half hour in at the same time…or maybe you prefer SpikeTV? Either way, your legs will thank you.

You don’t have to live in Alaska to need this super-hot bear repellent. The marketing hype for this claims the EPA has approved this for all species of bear, and we’re guessing that human-sized targets won’t like it much either (not that we recommend using it on them). It’s the most powerful pepper spray on the market at 20 percent concentration of pepper. This innocuous cannister has a whopping 15-20 foot range in a shotgun spray pattern. NOT FOR INDOORS USE! If you need to fend off a bear, won’t you be grateful you can stand 15 feet back to use this? Recommended for any camper, hiker or other outdoors lover planning to stomp around in bear country.

These Zeal Optics Detonator snow goggles answer a lot of complaints about lesser eyewear for snowmobiling, skiing, and snowboarding. For starters, they’re made for to accomodate smaller faces. The no-fog lenses are polarized and polychromatic, and work equally well in low-light or bright sunlight. Those polarizing lenses keep the glare out and lighten up when you encounter more normal light levels. The included protective carbon carrying case keeps the Zeal goggles safe and scratch-free in the off season.
