The garage band, the basement beatmaker, the up-and-coming rapper and the punk tour opener all share one thing– an attitude and lifestyle that crosses over from music into style. It is the goal of the watch designers at Vestal to capture this and forge it into their watches. “Vestal Watches fine tune style and expression for the musically inspired individual,” goes the mission statement. Musician or not, most can recognize the broad appeal of these Vestal watches. We did, and we were as excited as a kid in a record store when Vestal agreed to a GearCrave giveaway…
This week, GearCrave will be giving away five free Vestal watches to randomly selected readers. Continue reading after the break to learn how you can win one of your very own… Also, we’ll be sharing our five favorite Vestal watches this week, one per day from now until Friday. Stick around, GearCravers, this is going to be fun!

That mild-mannered, rather charming fellow above has a dark secret. While moonlighting as a blood spatter analyst for the Miami Police Department, Dexter Morgan has a much more serious career: serial killer. His victims are all murderers themselves, those tracked down with his own help by the police, only to get off on legal technicalities. Those murderers who escape justice are those that fall prey to Dexter’s insatiable bloodlust. If you’re a fan of Showtime’s “Dexter”, you’ll be happy to know that GearCrave will be giving away three copies of Dexter: the Second Season on DVD. If you’re new to the show, you might want to sign up as well– this is a show you won’t want to miss… Continue reading to learn how you can win your very own copy of Dexter’s second season.

For those of you who are aware of the modern prefab home movement, bear with us while we catch the rest up to speed. Imagine that your next home were to be manufactured in sections in a warehouse, delivered to your property, then pieced together and finalized into the perfect modern home. This technique has been around for decades, as “manufactured homes” and trailers have been delivered at a low cost to home owners. But what works for retirees in Florida and trailer communities across the country also works for the modernist movement. Some of the worlds brightest architects have turned to prefabricated construction techniques to lower costs and increase quality. The perfect example is Santa Monica’s LivingHome, as designed by architects Ray Kappe and Kieran Timberlake. Continue reading, GearCravers, for more about how the prefab movement has come alive in this LivingHome.

Update- Congrats to Nate, The Gabe and TimF, you’re our winners. I’ll be emailing you shortly!
A few weeks back, we reached out to GearCrave favorite Karmaloop.com to talk about a giveaway. We asked, they obliged, we got very excited. If you’re not familiar with Karmaloop, allow us to make the introduction. Karmaloop.com is a leading streetwear and urban fashion retailer on the web. Brands like LRG, DC, Puma, Obey, Crooks and Castles, Nike, Nixon and more are their bread and butter, the stuff we lust after. They could be compared to Urban Outfitters, save for the retail chain– Karmaloop is an online operation first and foremost. As a result, their service policies are stellar, their gear ships fast, and the result is a happy, good looking customer. Long before we launched GearCrave, Karmaloop had been on our personal radar. Continue reading, GearCravers, we’ve got some excitin things in store. Throughout the week, we’ll feature one Karmaloop favorite per day, showing you what we get excited about at Karmaloop. Fantasy-addicted baseball fans better find some more time in their schedules… Online community game developer Challenge Games has just released its first foray into sports with Baseball Boss. Baseball Boss is an online game that allows its users to develop fantasy baseball teams that compete with others in a simulated environment. Unlike fantasy baseball, Baseball Boss is not scored based on actual MLB games as they happen. Baseball Boss pits your team up against your friends– then simulates games as if your players were meeting face-to-face with the players on your friends team. Just like fantasy baseball, you can collect and trade “cards” (players, in this case) to other community members to improve your team. Continue reading, GearCravers, to learn more about Baseball Boss and get the GearCrave code to get you in to this very private Beta party before your friends…

Fernando Meirelles’s film City of God is an all-time favorite of ours. On the international success of City of God comes City of Men, a film that takes us back to the wrong side of paradise for a new and different story. City of Men tells the story of two close friends now divided by a dark secret– and forced on either side of a gang war in the slums of Rio De Janeiro. Fans of City of God won’t find a sequel in City of Men, but a new tale all its own rife with the familiar struggles with violence and perseverance.
