And now for a bit of alarm-clock nostalgia, we introduce the Giant Flip Clock. There was always something soothing about those flip clock alarms that peaked in the 80s. Maybe it was the warm, orange backlight– or the soft click of the numbers as they turned over. The Giant Flip Clock brings back that analog driven digital display to an oversized, modern update. The 13″ x 5″ x 4″ Giant Flip Clock provides a bold retro accent for your home or office, one that’s certain to bring a little of that 80s alarm clock nostalgia.

Your coworkers will think twice about stealing this one… The Brass knuckle mug by Thabto, otherwise known as “MUG!”, brings street violence to your early morning coffee fix. When we’re in line at the GearCrave office in the morning, we want a mug that says “kiss off” to our happy co-workers. I think this one will do the trick. While Thabto’s MUG! is currently out of stock, we’re going to bomb their email form repeatedly until they start producing these again. Otherwise, we’ll introduce them to a real knuckle duster…

Scandinavian Design is a cornerstone in modern furniture design– and this next piece will show you exactly how they’ve remained on top of their industry. This desk obviously features a simple yet modern design. It comes as shown in a black stained ash veneer with a chrome leg. First, we love the single leg design– it makes for more legroom and a more ergonomic workspace. Beyond the standard frame are a few accessories which make this desk an ideal work space. The picture above shows one, the Titan File Pedestal. Not pictured is the Titan Lateral File, a bookcase available in a 3- and 5- shelf unit. Bundle the three together and you’ve got one hell of a home office.

KnellDesign presents the Mobelsystem, made with no rigid design requiremens. Make it as straight-and-narrow as you please, or give it a freaky, Dali-esque wavey shape straight out of The Persistence of Memory. The only thing missing here is a melting clock or two. This concept uses hidden screws to let you resize, re-shape or re-think the whole thing on your terms. The right angle, as the designer says, is NOT all there is…

Capturing a person’s inner beauty has been a challenge for artist long before Leonardo was still finger painting in diapers. What lurks behind Mona Lisa’s mysterious smile, or just behind the fabric of Napoleon’s coat is truly not as interesting as who they really are inside. No portrait in the world can quite capture a person’s inner beauty like DNA art from DNA 11. By sending in the included DNA Capture Kit after extracting swab samples from your mouth, DNA 11 will capture your genetic make-up and create a one of a kind masterpiece that is you. Available in a multitude of colors, sizes and framing, the chances of you having the same piece created as your identical twin is that much more remote.

Pimping out the home office? Consider the Celle Chair by Herman Miller, which doesn’t use foam or fabric. Instead, the seat and back are made of something called “Cellular Suspension”. The marketing hype says the chair has “high flex-regions of cells” that respond to your body as you move in the chair.” Some say this is the most comfortable office chair they’ve ever owned, and that’s saying a lot considering how most office furniture feels after a full day’s work. Celle Chairs are 99 percent recyclable and can be broken down in about five minutes.

I cannot stress to you more the importance of “backing up.” I don’t mean as you pull out of your garage or what you tell a stripper to do in Vegas. I am talking about getting into the life saving habit of backing up your computer’s hard drive as often as you dream about poking holes in your boss(yes, at least once a day…killer). I recently lost my family, friends and girlfriend to a horrible serial killer named “Kernel Panic”, he erased their memory and I may never fully recover from the thought of ever seeing their beautifully photo-shopped faces ever again. Please, let their memory(or lack there of) be a lesson to you and rush out and buy a back up hard drive today.
Take this beautifully designed drive from Western Digital. The “WD My Passport Essential” is perfect for pretty much anyone. With 320 gigs of capacity. USB 2.0 connection and a super slim housing that slides right into your shirt pocket. Don’t put it there though…nerd. This drive will surely save your life when Murphy, gremlins, Kernel Panic, Major Pain, General Nuisance or any number of amnesia inducing suspects strike again. At $200, aren’t your loved ones worth it? Don’t answer that.
