Spyker C8 Aileron

“What the hell is a Spyker,” you ask? Spyker is a now-Switzerland based automotive company that prides itself on making high-end, hand-made super vehicles. The Spyker C8 Aileron is their latest namesake, a hand-crafted V8 behemoth that pushes 400 horsepower from zero to sixty in around three-and-a-half. Like previous Spyker autos, the engine is rear mounted, and the air intake is set atop the car’s roof, like the classic racers of 1970s formula road racing. This rare monster will roar into your garage for a price not too wild compared to others in its performance range. With a Spyker, however, you can expect to be the first to introduce this model to anyone who sees it. Your local car enthusiasts won’t know what you’ve got coming… More pictures after the jump.

Buy: $300,000

I saw first Spyker product “in the flesh” at the Geneva Auto Show in 1999. That model was a great, and pleasant, surprise.

This version looks a bit more tame, but you can expect Spyker to come up with more creative offerings in the future.

I’ve since seen Spyker cars at the 12 Hours of Sebring races in Sebring, FL and each time was amazed at their unique, and handsome, designs.

    Wish I could afford one!!
