Fully Electric: Enertia Motorcylce by Brammo

Coming to stores in 2008, Brammo’s Enertia Electric Motorcycle is a ground-up electric design instead of a modified gas hog. Enertia features a range of 45 miles on a full charge. It can hit 50mph using six lithium-phosphate batteries, which only take three hours to charge. It does appear that green is finally catching on with the gearhead set. Too Fast, Too Furious this ain’t, but with oil prices creeping towards $100 a barrel, 11K for a basic model and about 18K for the pimped version sounds pretty damn sweet. That’s about how much we’ll wind up paying for gas in a year soon anyway.

Sounds too expensive for a 45 mile trip per full charge.
I wonder what the longevity of these things will be…how worthwhile would it be to buy a 2nd hand one that was, say, 10 years old?
Questions like these need answers otherwise the rapid depreciation of these products mean they will never sell in the first place.
