Ducati Superbike 2008
On Thanksgiving Day, when you are stuffed full of turkey and dessert, and can’t fathom moving, let alone driving, take a nice long look at this pic. Your adrenaline might start pumping enough to get you up off the couch for another go at the desserts. The new 2008 Ducati 848 Superbike is the stuff high energy dreams are made of. There’s a mid-sized engine version, plus the high-performance 1098 R, which will be run in the ‘08 World Superbike Championship.
The late, great Hunter S. Thompson loved Ducati, and chronicled his obsession with the high-power machines in the article, “Song of the Sausage Creature.” Of the Ducati 900 Superbike, Thompson wrote, “The Ducati 900 is a finely engineered machine. . . The nasty little bugger looked like it was going 90 miles an hour when it was standing still in my garage.” As does the 2008 848. Bravo, Ducati.
