BMW 1 Series

bmw 5 door 1 series

The five-door BMW 1 Series. Available in a manual straight-six with active steering, rear-wheel drive and an aluminum front axle, plus the innovative auto start/stop feature. When the vehicle comes to a complete halt, the engine will automatically stop, just put it in neutral and take your foot off the brake. Nice, eh? This function won’t engage if the engine hasn’t reached the ideal moving temperature, or if the air conditioning hasn’t started cooling you down yet. If the car begins to roll, the engine starts right back up again. Sure, that red color is a cop-magnet, but can you resist?

In looking at the BMW I wonder, “WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!”

Look at the headlamp shapes. They look weird! Look at the lower character line on the bodyside, why does it sag?? It would be better if the outline of the headlamp shape reflected a more agressive look to reinforce the appeal the maker wants to convey to the buyer/public. Also, the lower character line, often referred to in car styling as the “skag line”, makes the car look heavier than reality and also makes the car look slower. Kind of mind numbing stupid design I think - but what do I know? I only styled cars for the car companies for 40 years.
