Yamaha “Deus Ex Machina” Concept

Wednesday, May 28, 2008 9:00AM - By Mike Payne

If you liked the Segway concept, you’re going to love this one. The Yamaha Deus Ex Machina Concept takes future travel to a new level. Classified as a motorcycle, the Dues Ex Machina looks more like a jetpack than a road machine. Designed by student Jake Loniak for Art Center Pasadena, this “wearable motorcycle” is a green auto, proposed to run on an electric system. While we salute Jake for thinking outside the lines of modern transportation, we think he could have gone a little further. This thing needs a jetpack– and lasers! [via greencardesign]

This is a nifty design workout. However, I wonder how he meets the safety standards required for street machines? What about lamps for turn signals, running lamps, and head and tail lamps?

It would be easier to relate to this vehicle it a human figure was shown fitted into/onto it.
