Samsung 52-Inch LCD TV

Friday, November 30, 2007 10:06AM - By J. Wallace

samsung-52.jpg

Ever get seized with the desire to buy the biggest damn LCD you could reasonably expect to be shipped to the house and actually arrive intact? Samsung’s LN-T526F LCD TV is one such beast, and what a monster it is! This is a fully high-def 1080P, 15,000:1 contrast ratio 52-inch screen with three HDMI ports and hidden side speakers. Santa can NOT fit this down the chimney, hence the urgency to order it online. Yes, there are definitely larger screens out there, but most of them are in the War Room at the Pentagon.

clok-4283.jpg

A single AA battery powers this ingenious off-the-wall clock design. Stash it in your bookshelf for a subtle look, or stick it between two bookends to draw more attention to the design. Either way, this is a book-lover’s gift all day, and if you aren’t ordering this for your librarian auntie or bookworm sister right this minute, we’re guessing it’s because she already has one.

LaCie Octopus Hub

Wednesday, November 28, 2007 10:50AM - By J. Wallace

lacie-hub1.jpg

The boringly-named LaCie Hub is a monster. Four USB 2.0 ports, two firewire 400 ports, hot-swappable, and include LEDs, a USB-powered light, and a USB fan. Both functional and goofy (who really needs a USB fan?) this exclusive design by Ora-Ito lets you run up to six devices at once. This one is due to ship any day now and is still in pre-order stage, but it looks like a winner, especially for USB-challenged Macbook Pro users.

This holds your keys, credit cards, mobile phone, pen, etc. All in a convenient and flexible shoulder sling that can be worn Bond-style or slung across the body like a duffel. Kane and Lynch: Happy Holiday Ultraviolence

Wednesday, November 28, 2007 10:50AM - By J. Wallace

kane.jpg

The plot of Kane and Lynch: Dead Men is beyond f-ed up. A mercenary with a death sentance on his head no matter what he does, and a barely-controlled psychopath are forced to team up and go after some missing loot. One’s determined to survive at any cost, the other’s got nothin’ to lose. Let ‘er rip! The body count potential on this one is staggering, probably even higher than all the the GTA games put together. Is a plot even really necessary? Shoot, drive, rappel, blow stuff up. Play solo or with a friend, plus online team play is there to liven things up, too. For some of us, the only games to play are the ones with the “M” rating, and this one earns it.

Tokyo Flash Morse Code Watch

Tuesday, November 27, 2007 11:30AM - By J. Wallace

tokyoflash_morsecode.jpg

Tokyo Flash is infamous for crazy-but-great-looking concept watches, including this Morse Code timepiece. You thought Morse Code was dead? In the age of wi-fi, cell phones, and wireless speakers maybe so, but this is still a totally cool piece of geekdom that seperates those in the know from the hopeless/clueless. We know Morse is, like, so 20th Century. . . but so is James Bond. And don’t even get us started on desktop PCs. The red display and chrome construction look great together, don’t they?
