The Brightest Flashlight in the World

14 The Brightest Flashlight in the World

The Polarion PH50 is flashlight the armed forces look to for their lighting needs so it will definitely stand up to whatever the average consumer could throw at it. This 50 watt LED flashlight produces 5,200 lamp lumens so you can throw a beam of light over a mile. There is a cheezy corporate video on YouTube to see it’s predecessor, the PH40, in action to get an idea what you’re in for. With the PH50 you need a go big or go home attitude toward flashlights to drop the dough for this bad boy. [$2,395 @ Polarion via ButteryBlend]

It’s rare for a flip phone to receive this kind of hype now a days with manufacturers trying to copy the proven iPhone form factor. Well, the W63CA is the wrench getting thrown into the proverbial works. Out now in Japan, Casio injects its proven camera experience into a two faced, uber-sexy flip phone. One side you’ll see what looks like a typical cell phone, yet upon a closer look the screen is a gorgeous 480 x 800 px, 3.1-inch OLED display. Now go ahead and turn the W63CA over and you’ll see what appears to be the trendy Casio Exilm camera. It rocks a wide-angle lens, 8.1-megapixel sensor, image stabilization, a YouTube video mode and 9-point autofocus. Check back for when/if it makes its way stateside. [via Engadget]

The All Electic MINI IS Coming

11 The All Electic MINI IS Coming

Editor’s NoteWhile it didn’t make our 13 Gasoline-Free Supercars list yesterday, this is some pretty cool news on its own!

An all new, all Electric MINI is set to be revealed at next month’s auto show in LA. The MINI E, as they are calling it, will look like any other MINI but will have plug logos all over it so you won’t forget it’s electric and try to put gas in it. The MINI E has a claimed 0-62 in 8.9 seconds and a 150 mile range per charge which is actually very practical. 204 hp and 164 lb-ft of torque at idle ain’t too shabby either. A two and half hour charge time is estimated by plugging into a standard power outlet but a high amperage wallbox will be supplied to give it the juice it needs. One car company needed to step up and deliver a practical all electric car. It’s only logical that MINI would start it off. [via ButteyBlend]
