On your way to see the most transcendant movie of modern times? Arrive in style with a pair of Transformer cufflinks. Each set includes one Autobot logo and one Decepticon emblem, and they’re both crafted with silver plating, measuring 0.78 inches by 0.59 inches. A black, PVC-covered cufflink box is also included. Not a bad deal at $20 bucks plus shipping, but there’s a problem. Like any Etsy offering that hits the blogosphere, Finkstudio couldn’t keep up with demand, so these awesome ‘links are sold out. Care to show up at Transformers: Rise of the Fallen with Batman cufflinks instead? [Wired]

Tired of waiting for hydrogen fuel cell technology to trickle down to consumers? You could take the path that Alex Bell and Andres Pacheco of Swarthmore College took: build your own! Bell and Pacheco have developed this hydrogen fuel cell motorcycle modded from an old Buell Cyclone. We’re impressed, and we wouldn’t mind taking this one for an eco-conscious spin around our hood. There are many things that make me remember my childhood. Transformers and GI Joe are two of them, but so is the old school Nintendo. The frustration of having to blow air into the cassette was endless but when you finally got it to work, it was crap load of fun. Duck Hunt was one of the games I enjoyed the most. In between the dog jumping in the bushes and the dead duck’s feathers filling the screen it was a blast. One ingenious Ebay seller, it’s not Sam Witwicky, has brought Duck Hunt into 2009. Stuffing a Wiimote into the front of the Desert Eagle bayonet style, the Wiimote is hardwired to the gun via a bent clothes hanger. Ingenuity, craftsmanship and business savvy all at once. Our friends over at TheBachelorGuy have spotted a cool new skating tool that takes the “board” out of skateboarding. Freeline Skates are sets of wheels that attach to common shoes, using the same truck structure as skateboards but skipping the board completely. While you won’t be able to grind on these bad boys, they do bring a lot of freedom to the way you shred the concrete. Head over to TheBachelorGuy for the details… For now, here’s more news from our other link friends:

They’re finally ready for (Optimus) Prime Time in your home theatre. The Transformers DVD is finally here in all its metal shape-shifting glory. This special 2-DVD set features all the mayhem and adrenaline action plus some crazy special features on the training the actors went through to get ready to fight the robots, and plenty of other behind-the-scenes dirt. Apparently the U.S. Air Force sort of wet themselves over this movie, providing access to military locations for filming and giving technical advice to the filmmakers for some added realism. But you don’t care about that. You just want to watch Optimus Prime get the robowar on. Oh, sure, that Roseanne boxed set comes out this week, too. But if you are buying that instead of the Transformers DVD, we really don’t want to know.

This is the gift for the Transformer nut in your life. Hell, get two. You know you want one. The Beatmix Bumblebee Transformer is an iPod speaker that activates to the music. Yes, Bumblebee will dance to Coheed And Cambria, Metallica, or the new Fallout Boy. This is also a cool party toy – it samples your iPod collection and plays the songs back with Transformers sound effects from the new movie. The Beatmix Bumblebee is ten inches tall doesn’t even need to be plugged into an iPod. It can react to any music source in the room, if your stereo is loud enough. When the neighbors come round to see what all the noise is about, just tell ‘em you’re trying to make your Transformer dance.
