PSP GO Details Leaked
PSP GO Details Leaked – Though a press conference has been scheduled for Tuesday, details and pictures of the Sony PSP Go have leaked today. A video featuring Sony’s director of hardware marketing John Koller has provided a closer look at the slimmed-down gaming system. The basic physical specs include a 3.8-inch screen, down from the 4.3-inch that PSP users are used to. The Go is said to be 43% lighter than the PSP 3000, weighing in at around 3.8 ounces. It features a slide-up screen to reveal controls underneath. The Go gives you 16 GB of built-in flash memory expandable by a Memory Stick Micro slot.
As far as connectivity, the Go will feature WiFi and also add Bluetooth for use with wireless headsets and phones, presumably to allow you to take advantage of your 3G network in browsing the net when you can’t tap into a WiFi signal. Games will be downloadable via the PlayStation Store and there appears to be an emphasis on simpler games that are easier to play. Some titles that have been mentioned include Little Big Planet, Jak and Daxter, Gran Turismo, and a new Metal Gear Solid. Of course, the Go will support other downloadable content like music, video and photos.
Two things that are missing from the Go are a UMD, so no dice if you want to play all your existing hard-copy PSP games on the new system, and a second analog controller in the controls layout. Availablity has been cited as fall 2009. Price hasn’t been specified. [via Crave]
