Up Close and Personal With DSi Innards

It’s always so exciting when the folks at iFixit mercilessy take apart our favorite tech toys. The latest to go under the knife is Nintendo’s new DSi handheld, which sports a camera and an SD slot in addition to the dual touch screens that give the console its name. How does it look from the inside? Just as you’ expect. There’s a flash memory card worth 256 MB and an integrated MMC controller that takes some of the work off the CPU. But here’s something: the DSi an 840 mAh rechargeable battery, while the old DS Lite’s battery was 1000 mAh. We already knew the DSi had a bit less battery life than its predecessor, but now you really know, from the inside. [via iFixit]
