SpaceShipOne Cockpit Looks Like Fun

Here’s a view from the cockpit of SpaceShipOne, which of course made history in 2004 as the first private manned spacecraft to break the edge of the earth’s atmosphere and hit space. No idea why this is surfacing now, but we can’t complain. There’s just so much to enjoy in this photo, from the clipboard in the pilot’s lap to the rudimentary-looking clock and dial in the top left corner to the extreme angle on which the ship seems to be approaching the earth. Plus, for a space ship, this doesn’t look all that complicated. One control stick? It’s probably not much tougher than a game of Afterburner. [via CrunchGear]
