LG Unveils Blu-ray Home Theater System

While other companies were steadily dropping Blu-ray home theater systems throughout 2008, LG was biding its time. It looks to have paid off, as their LHB979 appears to be very well thought out. The 5.1 system includes sleek and slim tower fronts, smaller rears, built-in iPod dock and 2 separate HDMI inputs. For those that value aesthetics over audio (or whose spouses insist), the rear speakers have wireless capability for seamless connection. You’ll also get support for streaming from Netflix, CinemaNow and YouTube. LG boasts that the audio has been finely-tuned by audio guru Mark Levinson, so expect a sound that exceeds the standard electronics-giant package system. Expect to see the system at your local retailer by May. Prices not yet available. [Cnet]
