MEDION releases fingerprint-activated GPS units

medionx5535 MEDION releases fingerprint activated GPS units

Here’s a way to keep other people’s hands off your GPS. MEDION has introduced three new GPS units that require your fingerprint to be activated. Each device can be programmed to accept five different people’s fingerprints- if you’re not one of those five, then you’re out of luck. While we seriously doubt that will prevent anyone from stealing your GPS at least you can sleep easy knowing that it’s completely useless to the culprit.

Other non-fingerprint related features for the devices include voice recognition, traffic updates with Traffic Message Channel reception, and Bluetooth. The GoPal P5235, GoPal P5435, and GoPal X5535 are currently available in Europe only- not word on pricing. [via Electronista]
