The World Champion: Cervelo R3 SL

As piloted by Spanish cyclist Carlos Sastre, this is the world champion of bikes. The Cervelo R3 SL carried Sastre and his yellow jersey to victory in the 105th Tour De France. The heart of the R3 SL is its carbon fiber frame, which employs a rounded square tube design that maximizes stiffness while minimizing weight. After its finished and painted, the SL’s frame weighs just 1.85 pounds. To put that in perspective, that’s not much heavier than 2 cans of soda.
