I love to cook. I don’t have a lot of cookbooks because a) they’re not that cheap b) the internet’s so much easier. It brings me to an impasse of sorts when I need the recipe at arm’s length in the kitchen. I’m not gonna spend the paper to print it out, and bringing the laptop to the counter seems destined to end in tomato-splattered disaster. The new Pandigital LCD Kitchen Technology Center is the perfect solution to this, the nerdiest of culinary conundrums. Pandigital has until now made their mark making uploadable digital LCD picture frames. Now, they’ve taken that technology, paired it with HDTV and made the KTC an all-in-one TV/Media Player/Digital Cookbook for the .

Unveiled at the International Home and Housewares Show in March of this year, the KTC comes with several recipes pre-programmed to the unit itself and a 1GB memory card to which you upload many, many more. The 15-inch LCD has a 1280 x 720 resolution, with HD capacity and is sealed in a glass casing for protection from water, grease, flour and other kitchen-y substances. It also comes with interchangeable black, white, and chrome faceplates, for the decor-conscious. The memory system is a 6-in-1 media reader that supports SD, XD, Memory Stick, Compact Flash, and MultiMediaCard. It also supports playback JPEG, Motion JPEG, MPEG 1, MPEG 4, and AVI. The official release hasn’t been announced yet, but, by all accounts, it should be available in early July. Keep a look out. You gotta break that stove in some time.
