Hyden Yoo Summer Cardigan
Hyden Yoo started his clothing line back in 2004 after winning $50,000 as the winner of Fear Factor. His original goal was to make a line of shirts that were sharp enough for the office but didn’t look like over-sized night shirts when untucked at happy hour. His fitted, short-hemmed dress shirts hit their mark, and he was able to launch his first full collection this year for the Fall/Winter season. The line is a perfect cross-section of his two intended audiences–Brooklyn hipsters and young corporate types.
A great example is the summer cardigan. Cardigans aren’t exactly the first thing 90-degree weather brings to mind. But, be it an office or a movie theater, this lightweight sweater–100% ultra-light wool with a cotton jersey lining–is just right for the overly air-conditioned indoors. On the style front, Yoo’s clothes are all about the details–in this case, shiny, military-style silver buttons. If you’re still not convinced just remember that Yoo sucked glassful of milk straight from a goat’s teat to bring you his clothes. The least you could do is buy a cardigan.
